About CAfS

Founded in the late 1990’s as Eden Local Agenda 21, the charity changed its name to Cumbria Action for Sustainability, (shortened to CAfS) in 2008.

CAfS runs several well established projects (Cumbria Green Build Events, Cumbria Energy Auditor Group and Sustainable Communities).

Other CAfS' initiatives enable people to implement small-scale, easily achievable sustainable living measures in their own neighbourhoods.

CAfS helps the people of Cumbria with skills training and educational programmes, signposting, showcasing best practice, networking and funding. CAfS is also involved in shaping regional and local government policies on sustainability and climate change, at a strategic level.
