Energy Audits - Cumbria Energy Auditor Group

What is CEAG?
CEAG is a body of local, professional architects, heating engineers, surveyors and ventilation experts offering bespoke advice on lowering energy costs and carbon emissions in a wide range of building types - from schools and village halls to commercial buildings and council properties. Established in 2004 by CAfS, by 2008 CEAG has undertaken over 60 energy audits, saving clients £1000’s in energy bills. The Group harnesses and shares the combined expertise of all of its professionals within the Group, thereby providing clients with the best advice.

Why we use professionals?
We want to be sure that CEAG’s advice is backed up by industry standard qualifications in energy management, years of experience, and a proven track record in ‘low carbon’ solutions.

Why local?
This ensures that the team is quickly available, as well as minimising travel costs, a saving we pass on to  clients. It means a better knowledge of local planning issues and contacts in the local building trade. Money spent on CEAG services also stays in the local economy.

Why is CEAG run by a charity?
Corporate social responsibility (CSR) underpins our services, so our auditors pass on their goodwill in the form of lower charges to not-for-profit organisations and local businesses.

What issues do our energy audits address?

Our CEAG professionals will survey your building with you, providing you with advice and commentary. They will then provide you with a full written report. Every recommendation comes with an estimate of costs and a priority level because we want the report to be as practical for you as possible.

If you have a particular problem that you wish to address, for instance, an assessment of renewable energy, or how to zone your heating, then we can tailor the audit to suit.

 & Costs

How much will an Energy Audit cost?

Generally between £400 - £1,000. However, this very much depends on the service you require, the size of the building and whether CAfS has been able to secure additional financial support for you. Clearly, a secondary school or commercial building will entail more work than a two room community hall.

In all instances, we try to arrange several audits in your area for the same day, so we can pass on cost savings. We offer discounted rates for not-for-profit organisations. Reduced rates are also available if you simply want professional advice on a particular energy management issue, and not a full energy audit.

In every case, we will first discuss your needs before agreeing a fee with you.

Is a CEAG energy audit worth it?
Please contact us and we will put you in touch with any one of our clients so you can ask them directly what they thought. We’re that confident!
